After graduating Louisiana State University, with honors, Alan Sanders attended LSU Law School where he graduated first in his class in 1982. In addition to other academic honors, he served as Executive Editor for the Louisiana Law Review. After law school, Mr. Sanders returned to his home town of Orange, Texas, and practiced law with his father, Lynwood Sanders. After seven years in Orange, he moved to Houston, Texas, where his practice focused on financial institution litigation during the Savings and Loan meltdown. Two years later, Mr. Sanders returned to Orange together with his young family, and resumed practice with his father for over twenty years. In 2013, he returned to practice in Houston, at a branch office of a large national law firm. Beginning in September 2017, Mr. Sanders joined the Moore Landrey law firm in Beaumont, Texas.

For over thirty-five years, Mr. Sanders has conducted a broad civil practice, that involves litigation and non-litigation cases. He has handled cases in state and federal courts, and also on appeal.
